Frequent Asked Questions

What Is Included In Your Wedding Videography Collections?

My wedding videography packages are designed to capture your day naturally, from the important moments to the little things happening around them.

Coverage can be tailored around your wedding plans and the parts of the day you’d like me to capture. Depending on the package, this can include bridal preparations, the ceremony, speeches, reception, first dance and everything in between.

Your finished wedding film is professionally edited to tell the story of your day, bringing together the important moments, natural reactions, atmosphere and audio into a film you can look back on for years to come.

Do You Offer Short Social Media Clips?

Yes. I can also provide short-form clips designed for sharing on social media.

These are short, quick clips rather than full-length wedding films. They’re ideal for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or simply having a collection of shorter moments from your wedding day to share with friends and family.

They are available as an additional content-creation option alongside my wedding videography.

How Far In Advance Should I Book?

There isn’t a set time you need to book, but popular wedding dates can get booked well in advance, particularly during the main wedding season.

If you already have your date confirmed, it’s worth getting in touch to check availability.

Can I Add Extra Hours To My Coverage?

Yes. If your plans change or you’d like me to stay later, additional coverage can normally be added.

Just let me know what you’d like covered and I’ll explain what’s possible and any additional cost.

Do You Offer Drone Footage?

Yes, where conditions and venue restrictions allow.

Drone footage can provide some great aerial views of your venue and surroundings and can be added to your coverage where appropriate.

All drone footage is subject to suitable weather conditions, airspace restrictions and venue permission.

Do You Work Alongside The Photographer?

Absolutely.

I work alongside your photographer rather than getting in their way. My approach is to capture the day naturally, without constantly directing you or asking you to repeat moments for the camera.

We’re both there to capture your day, and I make sure my filming works alongside what your photographer is doing.

Will You Ask Us To Pose Or Repeat Moments?

No.

My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I don’t stage moments or keep stopping the day to get another take.

There may be occasions where I position myself to get the best shot, but I let the day happen naturally around me.

I want your wedding film to reflect how the day actually felt, rather than looking like a series of staged moments.

How Long Will It Take To Receive Our Wedding Film?

Every wedding is different, and the editing process depends on the coverage and the film being created.

I take the time needed to properly go through the footage, select the important moments and bring everything together into your finished wedding film.

I’ll keep you updated throughout the editing process and let you know when your finished film is ready.

Do You Provide The Raw Footage?

My wedding videography is centred around the professionally edited wedding film, rather than supplying hours of unedited camera footage.

If you have a particular reason for wanting additional footage, you can ask me about this when getting in touch and I’ll explain what may be possible.

Do You Have A Second Videographer?

My packages are primarily based around me filming your wedding personally.

For larger or particularly complex weddings, additional filming support may be possible depending on the requirements of the day.

If you feel your wedding would benefit from additional coverage, just let me know when you get in touch.

What If My Wedding Is Somewhere Outside Staffordshire?

I’m based in Burntwood, Staffordshire, but I travel for weddings across the UK and can travel further afield too.

If your wedding is outside my usual travel area, I’ll let you know in advance if there are any additional travel costs.

How Do I Book?

The easiest way is to complete the enquiry form on my website or get in touch by email or phone.

Once I’ve confirmed that your date is available, we can look at the coverage that’s right for your wedding and I’ll send you the relevant package and pricing information.

If you decide to go ahead, a deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due four weeks before your wedding.

What Happens If You Are Unable To Attend?

Although this would be extremely rare, if an emergency meant that I was unable to attend your wedding, I would do everything possible to arrange suitable professional filming cover.

Any replacement would be discussed with you wherever possible, with the priority being to make sure your wedding is still captured properly.

Can We Include Personal Elements In Our Wedding Film?

Yes.

Personal elements such as speeches, readings, music, messages and other meaningful moments can all form part of your wedding film.

The aim is to create something that feels personal to your day rather than following a fixed formula.

What Equipment Do You Use?

I use professional Sony cinema cameras, high-quality lenses and professional audio equipment to capture both the visuals and sound of your wedding.

I also use multiple cameras and audio sources where appropriate, allowing me to capture the day from different perspectives while remaining as unobtrusive as possible.

I’ve been filming weddings and events for over 25 years +, so I know how to anticipate what is likely to happen while still allowing the day to unfold naturally.

Do You Need a Music License for Your Wedding?

For most weddings, you as the couple do not need to obtain a music license yourself. Whether a license is needed depends on the venue and the way music is used. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Weddings in Private Venues (Hotels, Banquet Halls, Private Estates, etc.)

• Most licensed wedding venues (e.g., hotels, manor houses, function halls) already have a PRS for Music and PPL license, which covers the performance of recorded or live music.

• If you’re hiring a DJ or live musicians, they generally handle any necessary music rights, so you don’t need to worry.

• If you’re playing music through personal speakers (e.g., a phone and speaker system), it’s still covered under the venue’s license.

2. Church Weddings

• Music played or performed as part of a religious service (e.g., hymns, organ music, processional and recessional songs) is exempt from requiring a PRS for Music license.

• If your church hosts a reception with music afterwards, that may require a license—though many churches already have one.

• If you plan to record, livestream, or distribute copies of your wedding (e.g., a video that includes background music), you may need an additional license, such as a Limited Online Music Licence (LOML) or a Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) license. Some churches already cover this, so it’s worth checking.

3. Outdoor & Public Venue Weddings (Parks, Museums, Historic Sites, etc.)

• If your wedding is held in a public space (such as a park or historic site), a music license may be required if music is played or performed.

• Many public venues already have a license, but if they don’t, they may ask you to arrange one. This can usually be done through PRS for Music.

4. Live Streaming or Recording Your Wedding

• If you plan to record, livestream, or distribute video footage of your wedding that includes copyrighted music (e.g., your first dance song, background music during the ceremony), you may need additional licenses.

• Platforms like YouTube and Facebook have some agreements in place, but videos with copyrighted music can sometimes be muted or taken down.

Important Points to Keep in Mind

• You usually don’t need to obtain a license yourself—venues and churches often take care of this.

• Religious ceremonies are typically exempt from music licensing requirements, but receptions may have different rules.

• For weddings in public spaces, check with the venue to confirm if a license is required.

• Recording or live-streaming your wedding may need additional permissions if copyrighted music is included.

• Your venue, DJ, or band can provide further clarification on any licensing concerns.

It’s always best to confirm with your venue or church, but in most cases, the necessary licenses are already in place.
